East London man charged with causing actual bodily harm after officer assaulted and hospitalised with head injuries.

A Walthamstow man has been charged with causing actual bodily harm and will appear at Highbury Magistrate’s court today after a police officer was taken to hospital suffering with head injuries.

Atif Sharif, 41, was arrested over the weekend after the officer was injured at the protest in central London on Saturday.

We hope the officer makes a speedy recovery. No officer should be assaulted for doing their job.
