Two bereaved mothers from Havering have organised at special event on Saturday 21 October at the Innocent Victim’s Memorial in the grounds of Westminster Abbey.

Sue Hedges from the Ricky Hayden Memorial and Peguy Kato from All Champion’s Charity are coming together to stand outside the special memorial to pay tribute to all the children who have lost their lives.

All parents are invited to attend, or anyone who has lost a family member is welcome to attend the memorial event on Saturday in the grounds of Westminster Abbey, starting at 1pm.

Both Sue and Peguy have been two well known figures across Havering and London, campaigning daily against knife crime and supporting other families who have also lost their child to a knife.

Sue told the Havering Daily:”We have stood outside many venues in London such as Downing Street and City Hall and no one listens to us and all the other families who have lost a child to knife crime.

“This event is different as it is our way of coming together and remembering our loved ones whose lives were taken to soon.

“We will stand outside the very special memorial and pay our respects to all those who have lost their life in such tragic circumstances.

“Please come and join us.”

Peguy told the Havering Daily: “It is important we remember all our loved ones-we must remember them as no one else does. Let us unite and stand together against the horrors taking place on our streets each day.”

The event is being supported by Chris Lambrianou, a former east London gangster who now supports these bereaved parents in their desperate bid to stop knife crime.

Chris told the Havering Daily: “These mothers are truly amazing women who are out on our streets everyday tackling knife crime with very little support.

“This event is done for them, to pay tribute to their children and all loved ones whose lives were cut short. We will remember them and pay our respects at this very special place.”
