A man in his 40s was assaulted on North Street in Hornchurch yesterday evening. A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, robbery and carrying a bladed article.

The victim was taken to hospital suffering with a head injury and his condition has been assessed as not life threatening.

A spokesperson for the Met Police told the Havering Daily:

“Police were called at 21:19 on Monday, 16 October to reports of an assault in North Street, Hornchurch.

Officers attended along with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.

A man in his 40s was found with a head injury. He was taken to hospital where his condition was assessed as not life-threatening or life-changing.  

Another man in his 40s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, robbery and carrying a bladed article.”

An investigation is under way and anyone with information about what happened is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 7384/16Oct.
