Second World War grenade found in Dagenham.
Valence Avenue was closed yesterday, Sunday 15 October as police officers dealt with the discovery of what is believed to have been a Second World War grenade.
The incident happened at 1.35pm, as officers were alerted to the discovery of the item at an address in Dagenham.
Officers worked quickly and discovered it was not live and have since removed it.
A spokesperson for the Met Police told the Havering Daily: “At approximately 13:35 on Sunday, 15 October police were alerted to an item, reported to be WWII grenade, found at an address in Valence Avenue, Dagenham.
Officers attended and it was established the item was not live.
Cordons were put in place while the scene was dealt with and have since been removed.”
