Romford road sealed off as man attacked with a golf club.

Cotleigh Road in Romford was closed off yesterday evening as a man in his 30s was assaulted. The road was sealed off just before 8pm, as officers dealt with the assault where a man is believed to have been struck with a golf club.

One resident who lives on the estate, told the Havering Daily: “It is sad to see how much crime is going on here. Sadly the Waterloo estate is sitting empty and is turning into a no go area.”

A spokesperson for the Met police told the Havering Daily:

“Police were called at approximately 19:40 on Sunday, 15 October to reports of a man assaulted in Cotleigh Road, Romford.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and the man, believed aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital for treatment – condition awaits.

No arrests; enquiries into the circumstances continue.”
