A great day was had by all who attended The MacMillan Cancer Support Charity fundraising event at The Phoenix Public House on The Broadway Rainham on Saturday 7th October.

Rainham ward Councillor Jackie McArdle attended alongside many members of the community to help raise as much money as they could for MacMillan cancer charity.

Staff member at the Phoenix Cath and her hardworking team laid on a tea party with live music in honour of not only MacMillan but a hard working retired Nurse, raising an incredible £900!

Councillor McArdle told the Havering Daily:
“I was more than happy to support Cath in this fund raising event and now our community minded Landlady at the Phoenix, aims to hold a charity drive or event once a month. These will run alongside her monthly sing a long which is on the last Wednesday of the month at 2pm and totally free.”

Up coming events include Halloween, Diwali, Fire Work Party, a war time sing a long and tea party straight after the Remembrance Parade on the 12th November and Christmas Parties.

Well done to Cath and her team, you really do have the community at the heart of everything you do!
