Man arrested for attempted murder after three children injured in a hit and run incident.
A man in his 50s remains in custody after being charged on suspicion of driving without due care and attention and attempted murder after three children were hit in a collision on Amesbury Road in Dagenham.
The incident happened yesterday, morning at 8.07am, as the children aged 14 years old, were on their way to school. They were taken to hospital where their injuries were deemed not life threatening.
A spokesperson for the Met Police told the Havering Daily:
“Police were called at 08:07 on Tuesday, 10 October to reports of a collision at Amesbury Road, Dagenham.
Officers and London Ambulance Service attended.
At the scene a white Ford Fiesta had been in collision with three pedestrians.
The pedestrians, two boys and a girl, all aged 14, were taken to hospital by LAS as a precaution where their injuries were not life threatening. The children’s parents were notified.
The driver of the Fiesta did not stop at the scene.
A man, aged 50s, was arrested on suspicion of driving without due care and attention and attempted murder.
He was taken to an east London police station where he remains at this time.”
