‘The little angel in the little red car’-Havering refuse collectors thank local resident for providing them with soft drinks each week.

Havering’s refuse collectors have reached out to the Havering Daily to thank a lady who has been providing the crews with soft drinks every week for a year. The lady who is believed to be from Collier Row, appears every Monday in the area and hands out bottles of drinks for all the staff, going from dust cart to dust cart.

Driver Rob told the Havering Daily: “We call her the little angel in the little red car.We don’t know her name sadly, we just know that she arrives every Monday in Collier Row and hands out bottles of soft drinks and water for us, going from cart to cart.

“During the hot summer months she really was a Godsend and we are so thankful for all the support she has given us.

“We can’t leave the cart, so we only have what is on us to get through the day. Her drinks are very much appreciated by all of us.”

The lady is believed to drive red Ford Fiesta and is out and about in Collier Row every Monday.

“We really wanted to thank her for her kindness and let her know that it is very much appreciated. Acts like these just go to show that there really is some good left in this world.”

Thank you to this amazing lady and thank you to our refuse collectors who are out on our streets everyday, despite the weather conditions and do such a very important job in our community.
