Rainham residents anger as fly tipping horror continues.
Residents living near the East Hall Lane and Lambs Lane junction are angry at the increasing fly tipping being dumped there daily.
One resident told the Havering Daily that this has been going on for nearly a decade with the area being used literally as a ‘dumping’ ground. Everything including hazardous material is dumped there and despite endless pleas by the local community, nothing has been done.
The land is privately owned and as such not council responsibility, however one resident told the Havering Daily, “It is not council land, but it is still our borough and this is not acceptable.”
Rainham ward Councillor Sue Ospreay is working to get this removed as quickly as possible and told the Havering Daily: “Fly tipping is not only an eyesore, but it also lowers and degrades the place that we love to call home.
“It attracts flies and vermin and the only way I can see to combat this is to either have cameras installed on this junction or a form of litter police to tackle this serious issue.”
Rainham residents already have the toxic land fires on Launders Lane to deal with and this increase in fly tipping is adding further issues to the community living there.
