An emergency crisis meeting held last Friday at the Harris Academy school in Rainham, saw residents on their knees demanding instant action from the Council now. The Rainham community has been suffering severe coughs, itchy eyes and nose bleeds. Those living near Launders Lane have been forced to wear masks inside their homes and children have not been allowed out in the garden due to the level of smoke and toxic fumes.

Yesterday, members of the Launders Lane Crisis Group Mark and Shaun, visited the site with professional drone users to obtain thermal imagining of the area.

Mark, who led the meeting on Friday wrote as follows:

Both Shaun and I went over to Launders Lane, Arnolds Field this morning to meet two professional drone specialists to fly a thermal imaging drone over Arnolds Field, Launders Lane.

The drone specialists are from a very well known, reputable company who also specialise and have expertise in this area.

When I arrived at the car park across the road at the fishing lake as I stepped out of my car, an intense smell/taste of what I can only describe as chlorine hit the back of my throat straight away, prompting me to get masks out of my car for both Shaun and I to wear just to be on the safe side.

When the drone specialists got out of their van the alarms on the monitors that they were wearing immediately went off and were showing very high readings, they therefore went back into the van and got out what I can only say were very advanced looking faces masks and protective eye wear.

We went across the road to Arnolds Field and when we were on the land, we all commented that we could actually feel heat under our feet from where we were standing.

Roughly 10 – 15 meters in front of us there was smoke coming up out of the ground, the best way I could describe it is that it was like the top of a chimney when smoke is coming out, we were informed by someone that that particular area had been smoking like that for some time now.

A couple of minutes after the drone was airborne there were some gasps when the highest reading recorded from within the ground was 176.4 Degrees Celsius (349.52 Degrees Fahrenheit).

Therefore, as always in the interests of transparency I have added images, data, reports, etc to this post for you all to see.
