Police officers investigate attempted arson in Hornchurch.
Detectives are investigating an attempted arson at a residential address on Haynes Road, Hornchurch, RM11.
The incident took place on Saturday 26 August just after 5am.
Police and London Fire Brigade attended the scene and traces of an accelerant were found. Fire damage was not caused and no injuries were reported to those at the premises.
A 39 year old man was arrested on suspicion of arson and has been bailed pending a date in November.
A spokesperson for the Met Police told the Havering Daily:
“Police were called at about 05:07 hrs on Saturday, 26 August.
The London Fire Brigade and police attended and identified traces of an accelerant.
Fire damage was not caused to the address and no injuries were reported.
A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted arson and was later released on bail until a date in November.”
Enquiries are ongoing.
