Security guard assaulted by suspected shoplifter at Tesco Express in Romford.

Tesco Express in Romford was briefly sealed off after a security guard was assaulted trying to stop an attempted shoplifter yesterday, 19 August.

The incident happened on South Street in Romford around 10.30 am.

The suspect made off, there have been no arrests and enquiries continue.

Police and ambulance attended the scene.
