All three members of the emergency services attended a scene at Harrow Lodge lake in Hornchurch yesterday evening, after a resident walking across the bridge thought they had seen a hand floating in the water.

Following concerns it could have been a body, police, fire and ambulances rushed to the scene to investigate further.

After a thorough check by members of our emergency services, it was found that it was a false alarm and it was actually a washing up glove floating down the lake.

Fortunately it was not a body, however it does once again bring up the issue of people dumping their rubbish across our parks.
