Why is there no public outcry over horrendous daily stabbings taking place on our streets?

Amarjay Nkemayang 19, has been jailed for six years for stabbing another teenager onboard a busy train. Nkemayang was captured on CCTV fleeing the scene on a Victoria Line service as it pulled out of Brixton station.

He was seen carrying a large hunting knife that the trial at the Old Bailey heard he carried habitually.

Where is the public outcry over this and the endless stabbings that are taking place across London? Why is a 19 year old repeatedly carrying a large weapon as he did and ultimately using it publicly to brutally stab a 16 year old boy?

The video released clearly shows Nkemayang moving carriage after the incident with the horrendous weapon in his hand. The video itself will gain media attention, but the public outcry over another stabbing-sadly does not.

Everyday incidents such as this are taking place on our streets. Everyday teenagers are leaving their homes carrying weapons. Bereaved parents are tired, tired of campaigning, tired of begging for help to stop these terrible events taking place. Sadly no one listens and the stabbings continue.

Parents live in fear, teenagers continue to arm themselves with weapons, now sadly including guns and the crimes keep rising.

We cannot point the finger here at the police, this is not a problem that can be solved by our police officers alone. Communities need to urgently start addressing what authorities clearly are not.

Our youth need help, guidance and support. The terrible scenes across Oxford Street last week visibly showed how easily they follow the social media call.

No one is calling these crimes out.No one is addressing these issues facing our youth and ultimately no one except bereaved parents and anti knife crime campaigners care.
