Armed Police arrest male following vehicle stop in Romford.

Armed police officers were present outside the Co-op on Brentwood Road in Gidea Park today at 11.40am after stopping a vehicle. The stop came after another police force had circulated the vehicle in relation to a firearms incident.

A male was arrested after being wanted in connection with drug offences.

A spokesperson for the Met Police told the Havering Daily:

“At 11:40hrs on Thursday, 10 August armed officers carried out a stop of a vehicle in Brentwood Road, Romford.

The stop was carried out following the circulation of the vehicle, by another force, in relation to a firearms incident.

Following the stop one man was arrested, he had been circulated as wanted for drugs offences.

The car was seized by police for unrelated driving offences.”
