Upminster By-Election: Candidate Responses Coming Tomorrow!

As the Upminster By-Election draws nearer (Thursday 10 August 2023), we understand the importance of keeping our community informed about the candidates and their visions for our constituency. To provide you with a comprehensive picture of the contenders vying for public office, we reached out to all the candidates, inviting them to share their manifestos and aspirations with us.

We have received responses from 3 candidates so far, each offering their unique insights and plans for the future of Upminster.

The 3 candidates we have received responses from so far are:

• Green Party candidate, Melanie Collins
• Resident Association candidate, Jacqueline Williams
• Labour candidate, John Gregory Sullivan

Other candidates:

• Liberal Democrats candidate, Thomas Patrick Clarke
• Independent candidate, David Warren Durant

Please note that the Conservative candidate has been suspended from the party, so will not be running in the by-election.

Reminder

This will be the first election in Havering where voter ID will now be required at polling stations. Under new rules, residents without a valid form of photo ID will not be able to vote.
