On Friday afternoon Havering’s Mayor Councillor Stephanie Nunn was joined by Olympic gold medalist Rebecca Adlington to officially open the new Rainham Leisure Centre.

The Mayor was joined by staff from Everyone Active as well as Rainham ward Councillor Jackie McArdle.

Councillor Nunn told the Havering Daily:

“I was pleased to be at the opening of Rainham Leisure Centre on Friday. It is good to see such excellent facilities available for residents in the south of the borough with easy access for schools. It was a privilege to cut the ribbon on the latest leisure centre in Havering.I was also happy to meet Danny from Rainham Primary School who was the artist for the mural on the wall in the swimming g pool. To see all the children jumping in the pool after the unveiling of the mural was delightful.”
