Well done to Havering Police Schools Officers who organised a great three day event at Brittons School for children in the area. The event began on Monday 24 June with a sports day and finished yesterday with special visits from many different branches of the Met including police dogs and police horses.

Youngsters aged 10, 11 and 12 had the chance to chat with officers from the Territorial Support Group, Traffic Officers, Mounted Branch officers, Search and Rescue officers and officers from the Dog Unit. Children were able to meet the animals, learn about their role in the police, chat with officers about the challenges of their job and also had the opportunity to try on police riot helmets, carry shields and see just how difficult it is to work wearing such heavy equipement.

Youngster had three great days with the schools officers and not only had lots of activities to enjoy, but also learn about the many roles the police has to offer.

The schools officers would like to thank Tesco Rainham Essex Community for all their help and support with this event.
