Well done to officers from East Area Violence Suppression Unit who yesterday, 19 July removed another knife off our streets and made further arrests for drug possession.

Officers were patrolling Marks Gate, when they came across a group of males walking down a service road to the rear of a set of garages in the early hours of the morning. They were followed on foot.

The group of seven males, some in a vehicle were searched where an offensive weapon was found. The male was arrested alongside others for drug possession and disqualified driving.

Ongoing proactive work by the Violence Suppression Unit across East Area has seen multiple weapons removed this year.
