BREAKING: Male threatening to stab shoppers in Hornchurch supermarket.

Shoppers were shocked to witness a male believed to be drunk, threatening to stab people in a supermarket in Roneo Corner.

Security staff rushed to put cages at the end of aisle 16 where the man had sat himself down on beer cans threatening people.

Staff did their best to keep the area secure as they awaited the arrival of the police.

One shopper told the Havering Daily: “I was aghast because there were so many children there and all I could think of was if he makes a run for it, there is no way they can be protected.

“Staff had placed cages at either end of the aisle. I saw the man, he was very drunk and I heard him say he was going to stab someone as he had knives on him.”

We are awaiting further information from the police.
