Havering residents anger as many councillors enter Town Hall via back door to avoid anti ULEZ protesters.
Another Havering Against ULEZ protest took place outside the Town Hall in Romford last night, Wednesday 12 July. The protest took place half an hour before the full council meeting was due to begin, however, the majority of the councillors opted to enter via the back door entrance and avoid facing anti ULEZ protesters.
There were some exceptions as Councillors Judith Holt, Viddy Persaud, Keith Darvill, Dave Godwin,Brian Eagling and Martin Goode all chose to speak with protesters about their anti ULEZ objections.
The protest was organised by MIchelle from the Havering Against ULEZ campaign who has been protesting against the planned expansion for months. The protest was peaceful and residents stood outside the Romford building with their placards keen to make their voices heard, as so many feel that the council have not taken any of their objections on board.
Residents were angry that so many councillors chose to not face the protesters and instead enter via a back door.
Placards voicing residents anger were lined up across the Town Hall entrance clearly highlighted how disappointed Havering residents are.
