Havering Residents Association respond to Councillor David Taylor’s recent column in the Havering Daily

Sadly, politics can be a dirty game but lying should never be acceptable.

Some of you may have recently read an article by Councillor David Taylor about planning.

It is disappointing to see once again Councillor Taylor writing lies about past events.

Just to remind Councillor Taylor it was the Conservative administration that changed the status of the Hall Lane pitch & putt site, it was the Conservative administration that sold the pitch and putt site, and all H.R.A Councillors voted against planning with all Conservative representatives voting for planning consent.

He also misrepresented the Leader’s talk of finding a ‘Treasure Island’ by suggesting it was about selling off land and car parks in Romford. In truth, and he is well aware that the proposed Data Centre nr Warley was the suggested ‘Treasure Island’.

Residents need Councillors that represent them and tell the facts and truth, something Councillor Taylor continually fails to demonstrate.

We ask that Councillor Taylor apologise to residents for misleading them.
