Seeking the hidden artists of Rainham! Secret Artist 2023.
An exciting project is being commissioned by the Rainham Creativity Squad, in partnership with the National Trust and produced by Bluerskies Mindful Creatives.
The Havering Changing Rainham Creativity Squad, National Trust Rainham Hall and Bluerskies Mindful Creatives have teamed up again in a new search for the hidden and unknown creative people of their town, creating an opportunity for all creative people who live and work in Rainham, RM13 to be in an exhibition at the National Trust Rainham Hall & Gardens in their Hayloft space, cafe and gardens during August 2022.
Our idea is to uncover all the creative people who might not call themselves an artist and hide their artistic endeavours from the world. We want to find the people who secretly craft away in their garden sheds, who secretly draw in their bedroom, who secretly build in their basement but never show anyone else because they might not consider themselves to be … ‘an Artist’.
With the understanding that many people might be shy about showing their creative work, we have given the option to remain anonymous in the exhibition to eliminate any worries and to encourage people to submit their artworks.
What we want is to discover hidden talent and provide a platform to showcase the creativity we know is out there. It doesn’t matter if people haven’t exhibited before and we encourage everyone to take part and will support interested people in doing so. This year we have also opened up the opportunity to submit sculptural works, including art that can exist in the outside gardens of Rainham Hall.
Submissions are open until midnight on Sunday 16th July. Link for details and how to apply:
