In March this year, Ardleigh Green School celebrated a momentous occasion! ‘Strive to Succeed’, the original school motto, still lives on in the schools 90 years later and is achieved today through the staff, children, parents and governors ‘Working Together, Learning Together and Growing Together’.

This year, the Hornchurch school marks its 90 birthday and a time to celebrate everything the school stands for in our community and everything it has achieved.

Working alongside the school, Ardleigh Green Schools Parents Association wanted to mark this special occasion for all staff and students so everyone made their way outside and took part in a flying photographic experience thanks to Dave Wilcox and his drone.

Students and staffed joined together to Mark out the shape of a 9 and 0. This involved 630 students and the entire staff who came together, led by Executive Headteacher John Morris OBE who also sang aloud the school song ‘School is an Adventure Park for the Mind’ whilst the photos were taken.

As the school has had an impact on so many people who still live in the area, they are inviting the local community to attend their Summer Fayre and 90th Birthday Celebration on Saturday 8 July 12 noon to 4pm.

The Parents Association are collecting photos, stories and memories from students, school staff, parents and governors, past and present who were a part of Ardleigh Green Schools history. These will be shared with the community at their celebration afternoon.

If you do have any photos you would like to share, please email your submissions to ardleighgreenschoolspa@gmail.com or contact Jo on 07515 904317 if you need any assistance.

Ardleigh Green school are also sad to see their Executive Headteacher, John Morris, retire after 32 years of service to the school, and to tens of thousands of children who have passed through the school under his leadership.

Celebrating 90 years!
