As we approach Armed Services Day, Havering community members yesterday 19 June gathered outside the Town Hall in Romford to raise the Armed Forces flag.

Havering Police officers joined the community in the flag raising event led by Neighbourhoods Superintendent Hutchinson and officers from Romford Safer Neighbourhood Team.

The flag was officially raised by Havering’s Mayor Councillor Stephanie Nunn and Consort Barry Mugglestone and watched by the borough’s VIPs, Romford MP Andrew Rosindell, Leader of Havering Conservatives Councillor Keith Prince, Deputy Leader Councillor Dilip Patel, and Deputy Lieutenant Nick Bracken OBE.

It was the first outing also for Reverend Amanda of St Nicholas parish in Elm Park and Mayor’s Cadet Archie from Hornchurch and Upminster Sea Cadets.
