Teenage Romford Boxing Star pays tribute to Ricky Hayden.
Seventeen year old Chantelle Fewell is a Romford boxing star. On Saturday 17 June, Chantelle won her fight in the third round after a knock out. Not only is she our local rising star, but boxed with Ricky Hayden’s initials on her shorts.
Chantelle trains at Edge Gym in Romford and her trainers are Billy Douglas and Will Jones.
Anti knife crime campaigners and Ricky’s mother and sister Sue Hedges and April Hayden, met with Chantelle at the Player’s Lounge on Saturday to thank her for paying tribute to Ricky. She has also told the Ricky Hayden Memorial that from now on, she will continue to box with Ricky’s initials on her shorts.
Well done to Chantelle for winning her fight with a fantastic knockout, but also for paying tribute to Ricky and his family.
Sue told the Havering Daily: “Chantelle is our champ so watch out for her in the future and remember her name.
“She is down to earth, humble, kind and very focused, she knows what she wants and is very determined to make her dreams come true. She is also a very strong lady who will be giving Havering a great deal of hope for our youth.”
Well done to Chantelle for her excellent win and for supporting the Ricky Hayden Memorial.
