On Friday 9 June Cathy Hartie retired after nearly sixty years of working for the NHS. Cathy will be sorely missed as she is much loved by her community and colleagues.

She began her career in Glasgow in the late 1960s where she trained as nurse at the prestigious Glasgow Royal Infirmary. From there she moved down to Essex where she since spent 45 years working in the caring profession across London and Havering in particular.

Cathy has worked across Romford,Elm Park and Hornchurch as a community nurse, where she has been a much respected and popular figure.

Despite all her hard work in the community, she found time to raise five sons and be a fantastic mum and now grandma!

We wish Cathy a happy retirement and thank her for all her incredible work across Havering over the last 60 years!
