The annual summer concert at the beautiful Langtons Gardens was held yesterday, Sunday 11 June, in Hornchurch.

Hundreds arrived armed with their deck chairs and sun screens to sit and listen to an afternoon of classical music, whilst enjoying a refreshing drink.

The Westminster Philharmonic Orchestra led by Jonathan Butcher, with Leader Christian Halstead, performed pieces such as March-The Washington Post by JP Sousa and a crowd joiner song- The Teddy Bears Picnic by John Bratton and Jimmy Kennedy.

The afternoon saw soaring temperatures and plenty of ice filled drinks, as residents took to the shade underneath the beautiful trees.

Havering’s Mayor Councillor Stephanie Nunn and Consort Councillor Barry Mugglestone hosted the borough’s councillors at the Mayor’s tent and held a special raffle to raise money for her chosen charity-First Step.

It was an excellent afternoon much enjoyed by all who attended. Well done to the Havering Council team who worked very hard organising this event.
