The Baby Bank HQ desperate plea to help fund for a van as theirs will not viable due to the ULEZ expansion.
The Baby Bank HQ do incredible and vital working in our community. The charity are a small group of people that are trying their best to make a difference in the lives of many families across east London and Essex. They give everything they can and help hundreds of families every year by providing them with everyday essential items.
The team run numerous free events including school uniform and general clothing pop up shops. They have provided 1000s of gifts to over 500 children on Christmas morning and really do everything they can to help and support parents and their children.
Now, due to the ULEZ expansion starting in August, the charity will no longer be able to use their van. The van is vital to the staff as it allows them to gather daily collections and the general running around of stock from one hub to another.
The loss of their van will be a huge hit to this charity that really are trying to make a big difference to the local community.
The team are looking to source a small second hand van to enable them to continue their work. They have never asked for financial support before and understand how difficult things are for people at the moment.
If you can help donate to help the Baby Bank get a van please see the link below.
Alternatively, if you would like to fund raise or work for a business that would donate, please email info@thebabybankhq.org, or drop them a message.

Another casualty of Sadiq Khan’s useless ULEZ, ULEZ expansion is all about the money it will raise and Khan’s ego, and to hell with the people, small businesses and charities that it will harm.
The negative effects it is and will have on so many people are way out of proportion to the minimal improvement in air quality anticipated by his own report and advisors.
The scrappage scheme, the eligibility for which was recently increased, doesn’t touch the sides, when you consider the number of people in need of help and the cost of replacing vehicles. £110 million at £2,000 a car means that a maximum of 55,000 people can receive this, but in reality it will be a lot less because not everyone is eligible and £5,000 is available for vans and £9,000 for mini buses. TFL themselves admit there are 280,000 non compliant cars (otherwise known as perfectly legal low emission vehicles) in Outer London and the DVLA put that number at nearer 400,000. There are estimated to be less than 5,000 2nd hand compliant cars available to buy at under £5000 and the average 2nd hand price of a compliant petrol car is now £15,000 and nearly £20,000 for a diesel, and of course the 2nd hand value of non compliant vehicles has plummeted since the Mayor’s announcement.
So an awful lot of people are going to be severely out of pocket if they are able to raise the money at all. And let’s not forget the hundreds of thousands of people, businesses and charities outside London also impacted by this who can’t claim for anything. The minimal improvement in air quality anticipated by the ULEZ extension must be balanced against the financial devastation, stress and anxiety it is causing so many people, small businesses and charities in the middle of a cost of living crisis.
I am sure when this is all over Khan will be responsible for many deaths and shortened lives from the stress he has imposed, unfortunately it is unlikely he will ever be held accountable.
