VIDEO: Watch thieves attempt a ‘smash and grab’ in Elm Park.

On Friday 2 June at 3.20am, thieves attempted a smash and grab at the Elm Park Coop on Station Parade. The video below shows the moments the van smashes into the metal fencing at the front of the store in the early hours of the morning.

The suspects were unable to steal anything, but only damage the front of the store.

The incident is now being investigated by Flying Squad detectives and the link between this incident and the theft of the ATM from Waitrose in Upminster last week is being looked at.
