Station Lane in Hornchurch was closed earlier today following a hit and run incident that has left a cyclist injured.

The shocking incident happened at 1.20pm between Station Lane and Mavis Grove.

The cyclist, a man in his 60s was taken to hospital.

A spokesperson for the Met Police told the Havering Daily:

“Police were called at 13:20hrs on Friday, 19 May to reports of a collision involving a car and a cyclist at the junction of Station Road and Mavis Grove in Hornchurch.

“Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service. The cyclist, a man aged in his 60s, was taken to hospital. We await an update on his condition.

“The driver of the car failed to stop at the scene and enquiries are ongoing to locate them.”

 Any witnesses are asked to call 101 quoting CAD 3546/19May.
