Council aware of difficult situation on Regarth Road and working with NHS to find a solution.
Residents living on Regarth Road in Romford have experienced another difficult weekend. Several weeks ago, the residents contacted local councillors asking them to look at the suitability of an assisted living hostel on their road after ongoing issues there.
All three members of the emergency services were called by one of the residents currently living in the hostel that has caused many problems for those who live on Regarth Road.
The community is asking the council if the Romford road near the station is actually the best place for this hostel. They are also questioning if this is indeed a 24 hour 7 days a week assisted hostel, as over the weekend many problems seem to arise.
There have been a series of problems there that have impacted locals, from members of the emergency services being called regularly, to many doorbells being rung multiple times.
A spokesperson for Havering Council told the Havering Daily: “We sympathise with the residents and what they are going through.
“This is a difficult situation and the Council is aware of the vulnerable resident and is working with NELFT [North East London NHS Foundation Trust] to support her in the best way we can.
“We appreciate this is a difficult situation and we are doing everything we can to find a solution for everyone.”
