Many street parties took place across this special bank holiday weekend as residents across the borough celebrated the crowning of HM King Charles III.

Saturday saw a special screen placed in Romford market by Julie Frost at Romford BID, for residents to sit together and watch the coronation, however the wet and soggy conditions dampened the atmosphere and many left to watch the event at home in drier conditions.

With the sun shining on Sunday, street parties right across the borough were held, flags flew, cakes were made and the wine was flowing to mark the crowning of a new King.

The Havering Daily joined party goers on Hillcrest Road alongside Havering’s Mayor Councillor Trevor Mc Keever and the borough’s Deputy Lieutenant Nick Bracken OBE and on Glebe Way in Hornchurch to see celebrations.
