Havering’s Mayor and Labour Prospective Parliamentary Candidate Celebrate The Coronation.
Mayor of Havering and Beam Park Councillor Trevor McKeever has played a pivotal role in his year as Mayor, from the Platinum Jubilee of the late Queen Elizabeth II to the Proclamation of Accession of Charles III in September and this weekend’s Coronation travelling around the borough helping our communities commemorate this momentous occasion.
“The late Queen was more than just our Head of State, she was revered in this country. It was a privilege to take part in our community’s celebrations of her 75 year reign, Havering now looks forward to the reign of her son continuing her legacy”, Councillor Mckeever told the Havering Daily.
Alongside these once-in-a-lifetime civic duties, Trevor has also welcomed new citizens of this country in ceremonies at Langtons, and for the Coronation week, Havering Town Hall.
“Many of the people who make their life in this country want to make a definite gesture of belonging and every week I have met people who are so happy to have completed that citizenship process.”
Labour’s Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Dagenham and Rainham Councillor Margaret Mullane joined residents over the weekend, attending a street party that was raising funds for the community affected by the Launders Lane ongoing fires, and meeting Orchard Village residents at the Mardyke Community Centre. “Our Dagenham and Rainham community has a keen sense of self and events like these have always brought people together,” Margaret told the Havering Daily.
