A special reopening ceremony for the post office on Brentwood Road was held yesterday 3 May. St Albans ward Councillor Judith Holt was invited to cut the ribbon alongside Ganesh the new owner of the premises.

The post office and shop has been closed whilst refurbishments took place and a new owner takes charge.

Councillor Holt told the Havering Daily: “After forty years of loyal service by former postmasters Mr and Mrs Patel, we are very pleased to welcome new owner Mr Ganesh Tinegar to the community of Romford and Hornchurch.

“The newly refurbished and extended post office and shop I’m sure will be much used and valued.”
