Bereaved mum and anti knife crime campaigner Sue Hedges, has donated a life saving bleed kit to Forest Academy in Hainault.

The anti knife crime campaigner has made it her mission to donate as many of these bleed kits as she possibly can across our communities in a bid to save lives. It was one of these Daniel Baird bleed kits that saved a student’s life who was stabbed on his way to college in Hornchurch several months ago.

Mr Will Mackintosh from Forest Academy was very pleased to accept the kit on behalf of the Ricky Hayden Memorial and has asked Sue to chat to pupils in the future about her son Ricky and her work as an anti knife crime campaigner.

Sue told the Havering Daily: “It was a pleasure for me to donate a Daniel Baird bleed kit to Forest Academy in Hainault. As we know, these bleed kits are vital tools in our community and are proven life saving equipement.

“Thank you to Forest Academy for accepting this bag and I truly hope that it will never have to be used.”

Daniel Baird bleed kits are life saving tools for any form of catastrophic bleeding such as road traffic injuries and knife wounds.
