VIDEO:Anti Knife Crime Campaigner Donates Life Saving Bleed Unit To Barking Shopping Centre.
Sue Hedges from the Ricky Hayden Memorial yesterday Thursday 20 April, donated a Daniel Baird Bleed Unit to Vicarage Field shopping centre in Barking.
Supported by Barking and Dagenham’s Leader of the Council, Councillor Darren Rodwell, Cabinet Member for Enforcement Councillor Syed Ghani and Council Enforcement Officers, the life saving unit was placed on the ground floor of the shopping centre just opposite Barking station.
The bereaved mum and anti knife crime campaigner Sue, donates these vital life saving tools across the London communities each week in a bid to stop other youngsters from losing their life.
Ricky Hayden lost his life to knife crime in 2016 outside his home in Marks Gate. Since then, Sue and her daughter April have dedicated their life to battling the horrors of knife crime.
The Daniel Baird bleed kits are now being placed across Barking and Dagenham supported by the council. Thanks to Council Leader Councillor Rodwell who is always supporting his community and Councillor Ghani, the borough will have these kits placed across vital points in both Barking and Dagenham.
Yesterday’s box was donated by Brunel Shipping and Liner Services. Thanks to Director Richard Doubtfire, Group Operations Director Mike White and Karen Baker.
Well done to Councillor Rodwell and Councillor Ghani for their fantastic community engagement and for supporting these vital life saving tools.
Sue Hedges is an incredible community champion whose tireless work across London has already saved lives and will continue to do so.
