Celebrate St George’s Day At Romford Market.
Romford Market will once again be the place for Havering residents to enjoy a host of free festivities to mark St George’s Day in the borough.
The event, at Romford Market on Saturday 22 April between 12pm and 4pm, includes a number of free activities to keep all the family entertained.
The Royal British Legion Band and Corps of Drums Romford will be ‘suited and booted’ and providing a live performance from 12.30pm.
A themed stilt walker will be joining revellers and towering over market stalls with two performances at 1pm and 2:30pm.
Younger visitors can enjoy free face painting (1pm-4pm) and catching up with their favourite famous mascot characters for a photo (12pm-3pm).
New for this year is an Arts and Crafts Market from Friday 21 April (9am to 4.30pm) and Saturday 22 April (9am to 5pm).
The arts and crafts stalls are an opportunity to support our local artists who will be selling hand crafted goods such as stationery, paintings and jewellery.
No booking is required, residents and visitors can simply turn up and join the celebrations.
The Mayor of Havering, Cllr Trevor McKeever, said:
“St George’s Day celebrations are one of the busiest days at Romford Market.
“It’s wonderful to see so many attend and enjoy the various entertainment and activities on offer.
“Please do take the opportunity to come along and celebrate this year – Romford Market has something for all ages this St George’s Day.”
