Tourists looked on at Londoners who gathered together at Trafalgar Square on Saturday 15 April to protest against the ULEZ expansion due to commence at the end of August this year.

Taxi drivers, van drivers and bus drivers added their support to the protesters as they tooted horns and waved in solidarity with those protesting against the outer London expansion.

Those protesting came from all political views, and gathered together to wave placards and banners showing their protest against this expansion and the Mayor.

Many across the outer London boroughs are facing life changing decisions, with the closure of businesses, people facing going back on Universal Credit and those unable to attend hospital appointments. The list is long.

Michelle from Havering’s Anti ULEZ group was at the protest on Saturday and told the Havering Daily:

“I’m not far right wing and I’m not a Covid denier. I am here because we are fighting for our freedom. ULEZ is a trojan horse with the Pay Per Mile Scheme waiting to happen.

“We do not want this in Havering. There are so many who face such life changing decisions and do not know what to do. We are here to be a voice for them.”

There is another anti ULEZ expansion protest taking place on Tuesday 18 April outside Havering Town Hall at 7pm.
