Locals Frustration At Parking Chaos Outside Rainham School.
Locals living near Harris Academy are fed up with the parking chaos that occurs everyday at the end of school. Residents living on nearby roads, have complained that they struggle to access their homes due to the nightmare parking by parents each day.
Kelly who lives on Deri Avenue spoke to the Havering Daily and described the situation.
“Yesterday I returned home just before 5pm and I struggled to get to my road because a coach had got stuck in between parked cars. To make matters worse, another coach had parked up right outside the school gates on zig zag lines, so cars could not turn around.
“Deri Avenue then became dangerous as the usual after school parked cars were blocking vehicles entering the road who were trying to avoid the coach from going through. People just sat in their cars waiting for their children, oblivious or ignoring the fact that their vehicles were making the situation worse, and they did not want to move.”
These ongoing issues have left locals living near the school fed up with the way parents park and their complete lack of consideration for those who live on nearby roads.
Kelly finished by saying: “Parking issues have been terrible for years since the school turned into an academy. I am dreading the opening of the new sixth form due to the fact that there are terrible public transport links.
“I am hoping the Council might start taking the many complaints from residents they have received seriously now.”
