Violence Against Women And Girls Event Held At Hornchurch Library.
Well done to Havering police officers who yesterday held an event at Hornchurch library tackling violence against women and girls. The event was held alongside Havering Council officers and has been one of many held across different venues in the boroughs. Police officers from St Andrews and Upminster ward joined forces with Havering’s Community Safety team to tackle violence against women and girls and give important safety advice.
Councillor Ray Morgon, Leader of Havering Council, told the Havering Daily:
“Working together to help women and girls feel safer in the borough has been the focus of these events for both the Council and the police.
“It gives residents a chance to just pop-in and have a discussion with our officers and police, share experiences and ideas with others in a safe environment.
“Our priority is to do what we can to help all our residents feel safer living in our borough, including looking at how we can improve safety for women and girls.
“We hope that those who came along to these sessions, felt they were being listened to and that we can continue to look at making our borough a safe place to be.”
Well done to our police officers who have been very active across the area.
