VIDEO: Two Teenagers Arrested For Carrying Knives And Assaulting A Police Officer In Romford.
Great work by Romford Town Centre officers has seen two 16 year old youths arrested yesterday afternoon for carrying knives.
The incident took place on South Street just after 1pm when two plain clothes police officers stopped the teenagers. Both attempted to run from officers but were quickly detained. One officer was punched in chest.
The youth was searched and found to be in possession of a knife concealed in his trouser waistband.
He was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and assault on an emergency worker and was subsequently charged.
The second youth was arrested on suspicion of obstructing police. He was later released with no further action.
