The Trees for Havering initiative has gained significant traction as more and more members of the community come together to take part in tree-planting events. This weekend, volunteers gathered at Belhus Woods to plant 500 new trees and contribute to the growth of the local environment. This brings the campaign’s total so far to over 11.5k trees planted.

The volunteers were a mix of experienced tree planters and first-time participants, all united in their commitment to making the area a greener and healthier place.

This successful event highlights the importance of community action in promoting sustainability and protecting our natural surroundings.

The next two events are set to take place in Pinches Trust, Rainham, and Harrow Lodge Park, Elm Park. These events provide an opportunity for members of the community to come together, get their hands dirty, and make a tangible impact on their local environment.

The Piches Trust event will take place on the 1st of April from 9 am – Midday and you can find more information and register for the event here:
