Yesterday, 8 March saw the launch of The People’s Kitchen, a new community project based in Rainham that aims to bring people together to sit and chat over a bowl of delicious hot soup all made locally from fresh produce. The People’s Kitchen opened its doors yesterday from 12-6pm and will be open everyday until 18 March.

The new project is based on Celtic Farm Road, just opposite Rainham station. No booking is required, you can walk in from the street, sit down in a very peaceful environment and have some great conversation.

This project comes from successful writer David Shearing, a local artist whose work always features the community as the centre focus. The People’s Kitchen is not just a pop up kitchen, it is also a space of hope and togetherness where the community can come together to plant seeds for new food and inspire social change.
