Food appeal for Rainham library food pantry as supplies run low.
Rainham Ward Councillor Jackie McArdle is appealing for any food donations from the community as stock for the Rainham library food pantry run low. The food bank shop run by the Peabody Trust has been very successful and is open every Wednesday at the library.
Last month, the special food shop was launched in Rainham library where residents pay £5 and leave with £20 worth of shopping. The shop was set up by the Peabody Trust, Councillor McArdle and members of the library to help locals in the area who are struggling with the cost of living crisis.
The scheme has proven very popular with many coming to use the shop, but now supplies have run low and the food bank is desperate for food to help locals.
Councillor McArdle is looking for non perishable foods such as tinned food, crisps, biscuits, pasta, and rice.
If you would like to donate to help the Peabody Trust, please email us at newsdesk@thehaveringdaily.co.uk and we will put you in contact with Councillor McArdle.
