Havering, Barking and Dagenham and Redbridge Safer Transport team are working in partnership with Transport for London and City of London Police (CoLP) to run Community Roadwatch – a road safety initiative which aims to reduce speeding in residential areas.

Community Roadwatch gives local residents the opportunity to volunteer and work side by side with their local police teams, and use speed detection equipment to identify speeding vehicles in their communities. Warning letters will be issued where appropriate, and the information can help to inform the future activity of local police teams.

Full training is given including all equipment, however the volunteer needs to be over the age of 18 years. The exercises last approximately an hour at locations across the three boroughs’.
