A protest has been organised by St Edwards Ward Councillor David Taylor against the ULEZ expansion. The protest is due to start at 7pm outside of Havering Town Hall tonight.

Councillor Taylor has set out demands he and his Conservative councillors want in regards to Sadiq Khan’s ULEZ expansion due to commence in August.

Councillor Taylor told the Havering Daily:

“Tonight’s Havering ULEZ Protest is still due to go ahead, despite attempts to appease by Council Leader Ray Morgon.

“Yesterday (28th February), Havering Council Leader Ray Morgon issued a ULEZ update to residents. This update was used to repeat the council’s objection to the UELZ expansion. The note also claimed that Havering Council does not consider a legal challenge as a good use of public funds.”

Councillor Taylor added: “The Leader’s update revealed what we already knew, he is not serious about opposing ULEZ expansion. His update included a suggestion of delaying the expansion and claimed a legal challenge was not a good use of money.

“Residents do not want ULEZ delayed. They want it cancelled.”

Below are the demands Councillor Taylor and Conservative Councillors have set out.

Our demands are as follows;

1)      That Havering Council vote to fund a legal challenge. This is made possible with the Conservatives budget amendment to cut top executives and politician’s pay.

2)      That Mayor Khan immediately cancel ULEZ expansion.”

The demonstration will take place tonight, 7pm, 1st March, outside Havering Town Hall.

    Then everyone will have to take to the streets and protest against it, secondly refuse to pay it especially if road tax is still to be paid on vehicles. We all have a right to go about our daily lives without this greedy, evil little scrote dipping his hands in our pockets whenever he feels like it.Enough is enough and this government must step in and stop this tyrant right now before we end up like north Korea.

    Everyone should remove their number plate from their vehicles that will get the message out . Ray Morton need to get his finger out and listen to the people who pay his wages. We do not want hot air balloon sitting in the chamber, we want action on this ULEZ expansion we want it STOP. Before we have to take to the streets.
