Male caught at 2am today in possession of screwdriver, gloves and torch wearing a balaclava believed to be one of three males seen in video.

Thanks to fast time enquiries by police officers in Havering, a male has now been arrested believed to be one of the males in the ring door bell video footage.

The footage released on social media shows three males trying car door handles in Harold Hill just after 1am last week.

Police officers have acted swiftly and a male has now been arrested.

He has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to break into vehicles in Havering after officers spotted him acting suspiciously.

Safer Neighbourhood officers were on patrol in Cricklade Avenue, RM3, shortly before 2am this morning (Thursday, 23 February) when they spotted a man in a balaclava trying the door handles of a van and a car.

Officers stopped him and he was found in possession of a screwdriver, gloves and a torch. He was arrested on suspicion of vehicle interference and going equipped to steal.

Following some fast time enquiries, officers also believe he could be one of the men who was trying vehicle door handles in North Hill Drive, RM3, on Friday, 17 February. As a result, he was further arrested on suspicion of vehicle interference in relation to this.

He was taken to an east London police station where he remains in custody.
