Man stabbed on bus arrested for possession of an offensive weapon.

A 21 year old male has been stabbed on a 62 bus in Barking at 2pm today.

The incident took place on board the bus that was on Longbridge Road at the time. He was taken to hospital where his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

He has subsequently been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.

A spokesperson for the Met Police told the Havering Daily:

“Police were called shortly before 14:00hrs on Tuesday, 21 February to reports of a male stabbed on board a Route 62 bus on Longbridge Road in Barking.

“Officers attended and found a 21-year-old man with stab injuries. He was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service; his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

“He has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.

“There have been no further arrests and enquiries continue.”
