Labour representative Margaret Mullane has taken up the concerns of local parents about the disrepair, vandalism and neglect of the children’s play area and facilities at Brittons Playing Field, South Hornchurch.

Margaret told the Havering Daily: “Local parents got in touch with me about the shocking lack of play facilities for young children at Brittons Playing Field. I have contacted Havering Council asking that they repair and replace the play equipment at the park.

“This should and can be a great play area for local children, but the level of vandalism and subsequent neglect mean that it is unusable. We need safe spaces for children to play and enjoy.I hope when the play facilities are brought back for children’s use, that the Council and local people will keep an eye on the area to make sure it is free of vandalism. I want to see us all being able to take pride in our local environment.”
